BOOK BLURB

Fourteen-year-old Daniel and his friends enjoyed the best that childhood could offer during the summer of 1975 in a northern mining town until someone started brutally killing family pets. Daniel, who wants nothing more than be the hero from his books, convinces his friends to help search for the 'sicko', but this only brings him to the attention of the killer. When evidence surfaces that points at Daniel as the killer and his two friends turn against him, he soon realizes that there is much more to being a hero than what he has read. Running away from home, he enlists two seniors and a neighborhood bully to help trap the real killer.

MY REVIEW
'Mad Dog' has become my second favorite novel by David Wickenden after 'Deadly Harvest'.
This book has a story that tells us that real-life heroes need a lot a of guts to save the day. And sometimes, that's not even enough.
I love the main character, Daniel, as he one brave of a boy, and ready to face anything for his friends and family. He's always wanted to be the 'hero' that his books boasted of, but in real-life, being that is life threatening.
And in the end, it's our choices that matter.
This book is full of suspense, and kept me busy turning the pages.
The description makes me believe I'm right with Daniel, the hallmark of a brilliant writer. This book has got to be my new favorite novel, I love it that much.

I was emotional during some scenes, another thing that I love: if a book makes you fell, it's a great pick.
Being around the same age as Daniel, I learnt quite a few things from him. Stand up for what you believe, being one of them. Friendship, bravery, making the right choice, resilience, are the several themes portrayed in 'Mad Dag'

5/5 Stars (Is it possible to give more than that? If so, this book deserves all them!)

Great if you enjoy: complex read with twists and turns, mysteries, suspense.

Not great if you’re looking for: quick reads, simple mysteries, non-sensitive topics, non-violent books.
